Hey, I'm Sophie
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually evolved into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Netherlands wasn’t in our grand plan. Like many international relocations, it started with a job opportunity and soon grew into something much bigger.
The first months were demanding — new systems, fresh routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complicated than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of on-the-job learning. Over time, routines emerged. We found places that fit our needs, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt solid.
Why I Built Moss Saline Plume
Most information online was either corporate relocation advice or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance based on real life in Netherlands.
What This Site Does (And Doesn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Netherlands
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever there is a real change
This site is not:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our time in Netherlands continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Amsterdam or anywhere in Netherlands, don't hesitate to contact us.
Best regards,
Sophie
